Castle of Patù
From Independence Square, walk in via Giuseppe Romano then take the first street on the left which is via Silvio Pellico. After the first curve we can see on our right the last of the four towers which were part of the walls of the Castle of Patù. Those ruins date to the first half of the 15th century. The walls were surrounded by a moat half of which has now been filled in and half is used as garden. The castle has been completely destroyed but it was a shelter against the Saracen attacks.
